It’s been several years since my pandemic adventure back into being a Bulletin Board System SysOp again. After reliving the fun and frustration of getting Doors to work, crafting some very cool ANSI screens, and running a retro-technology over TCP/IP, it’s time for me to step away again. My focus continues to be family, professional development, and my homelab. This project will forever hold a special place in my heart. I plan on taking the BBS offline by the end of this month.
I’d like to give a shout out to my friends and fellow SysOps at Synchronet BBS and the awesome folks working on that FOSS project. Back in High School, I ran TriBBS and used to dial into a local Synchronet. I was very envious of the software package at the time. It continues to get updated, improved, and enhanced. Without their support, I don’t think I would have rediscovered Fidonet and Z-Modem.
Cheers!
