Teri and I went to see Benjamin Verdery (@benverdery on Twitter) at the UNLV Performing Arts Center’s concluding event for the 2016-2017 guitar concert series. Baby Rosslyn seemed to love the music and clapped en utero. This was Rosslyn’s first classical performance and was quite relaxing. Highlights of the evening were:

  • Heitor Villa-Lobos’s Bachianas Brasileiras #5

  • Ingram Marshall’s Seopa.

    • This had a very eclectic, yet solid vibe. It reminded me of Buckethead’s Colma. (Haunting, disturbing, yet satisfyingly structured.)

  • Verdery’s selection from his original Eleven Etudes and his arrangement and execution of Mozart’s Adagio. K 540. were stellar.

In all, it was an peaceful escape that Teri and I both needed. Great music!
