Robot Life (Enhanced)

I've officially been on holiday time since December 15th @ 5:01pm. I ended my last day of work before vacation by taking my team from UNLV to Giordano's for deep dish pizzas and libations.

Aside from work and post-Thanksgiving holiday prep, I've been anxious for Christmas Day to roll around. Rosslyn and Teri have some great gifts and surprises in store for them!

Teri, Rosslyn, and I have been spending some quality time together. There's been ample daddy-daughter time. Teri and I have also gotten some alone time too. We recently saw Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Teri had purchased pre-release passes for an IMAX 3D showing for my birthday and it was amazing!

I know that 2017 has been an incredibly difficult year for many people, but it's been the best year of my life. This year Teri became my wife and gave birth to our beautiful daughter Rosslyn. From this year until I pass, my life has changed forever. The joy and love of a family of my own is my greatest blessing.

At work, the singular accomplishment that I am most proud of is that we successfully completed the first phase of a monster 5 year project. Despite setbacks and delays, my systems engineers pulled through with a herculean effort. I'm so proud of my work family! Also, after a lengthy internal re-organization, I was promoted to Manager of Systems Engineering. This promotion is an important step in my career, as I am now 100% dedicated to leadership versus being split between leadership and technical roles.

I am also thankful that my precious network of extended family and friends have avoided the carnage of natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and all the horrifying news that has befallen many others. Also, several of our closest friends and family either became pregnant, had children, or reached significant parental milestones. We share in their happiness and joy!

This warmest robot's life has definitely been enhanced. I am looking forward to 2018 and the years to come!
