I have been on an extended 4th of July weekend from work to spend some quality time with Teri and Rosslyn. This past Friday, Teri was having some much needed “Mom Time” and I decided to take Rosslyn to a new park to explore.
Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs is on the other side of the Las Vegas Valley from where we live. It is a good 50 minute drive in traffic each way, but we had a blast as the park is like a mini-oasis. There was ample shade, trails, and paved walking paths on top of an abundance of water fowl.
We spent a couple of hours exploring the grounds in the morning before we gave into the heat and headed home. The entry fee for the part was $6 per vehicle (for the day) and I was able to purchase the pass online in advance. I felt that it was well worth it for a bit of an adventure. I look forward to going back as the season change.
Word of warning though… If you have a fear of birds, this might be the wrong place for you. They tend to get up close and personal.
